This week has been surprisingly enjoyable. We enjoyed some very nice family time on the 4th of July. Derek drove his dad in the parade in a beautiful new Corvette from one of our dealerships, TC Chevy. Ryann and our nephew Dutch rode along. Haylee and I both had birthdays. Haylee turned 17, she's growing up fast! And we won't mention my age! As my dad says, "I'm ageless." I do believe that life is a state of mind!
Two weeks ago Derek and I were able to find time to adjust our eating and started the Keto diet. Derek worked on some race preparation and feels very confident going into his home state race this week. My new computer arrived and I'm back to editing the last couple episodes of Season 2.
I believe all of the hard work is paying off!
We appreciate all of you who have been following along and encouraging us. It means a lot to us. We are hoping to see many of you in Portland. Derek has been studying the track, the car is fixed and ready, and we are back on track in four days! Yahoo!
We have been in the news this week as well. Here are the links to two articles we have been featured in:
Paddock Talk Article
Also on Wednesday we'll be interviewed for KPTV's Good Day Oregon show in Portland. As soon as we know the air date we'll send a shout out to share it! And look for us in the newest edition of Southern Oregon Magazine, coming out July 15th!
Derek will be adding a speaking engagement to the weekend. On Friday, Derek will leave after morning practice to speak to a group of kids who are participating in a USTA funded program through the Portland Tennis & Education Center. The kids will also be coming to the track to have a once in a lifetime experience being part of a racing team and getting a "behind the scenes tour" and up close interaction with our very own driver Derek DeBoer! Derek is really excited to be meeting the kids and sharing his love of racing with them.
We are looking forward to sharing the action with you via social media during the race weekend in Portland. Derek and I were talking yesterday and out of the blue he said, "You know we are going to be on the podium right?" I'm planning on it! There is power in clear intention! Let's go!!!
If you are interested in coming to the Portland race and haven't yet purchased tickets or made plans please visit our Events page for more information and links to purchase tickets. We are excited to share our passion with you in our home state of Oregon!
